Jef Neve and Teus Nobel play Newcastle on June 12

The performance punctuated with stories, musical challenges and humour. The duo play on Wednesday, June 12, at Adamstown Uniting Church 7.30pm.

Pianist Jef Neve is internationally acclaimed across pop, classical and jazz music. His composition credits include a string of contemporary jazz albums, award-winning movie and TV series, soundtrack orchestrations and a piano concerto. Since the early 2000s Neve has been supporting pop and jazz singers, creating jazz interpretations of songs from The Beatles to Joni Mitchell, nails Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and writes and performs original solo and group contemporary jazz pieces. A relentless composer and performer, he features in dozens of YouTube clips.

 

Neve first visited Newcastle in 2010 when his trio performed at the Adamstown Uniting Church to a standing ovation. He returned in 2013 for a solo performance on the locally made Stuart and Sons piano.
